description:
Brass Art are producing the word ‘Trespass’ as a pink argon sign - in double block font - all weather -with a portable power source - to be temporarily sited throughout the Trans-Pennine Area. We will use the sign to lay claim to suitable locations, both interiors and exteriors. Brass Art see themselves as modern voyageuses travelling with their accoutrements. In past projects Brass Art have explored the potential of accessing spaces in both a real and virtual sense. This has involved all three artists positioning themselves, as drawings, shadows and digital sprites in order to occupy privileged vantage points and trespass in inaccessible spaces. They are interested in how this sign will articulate different locations, as it can be read as both an incitement and a command.
