description:
Below are general instructions of how to get to the Ropewalks area and the three public art works.

Arriving at Liverpool Lime Street station, leave the platform and turn left along the main station concourse, passing a hundred foot glass screen that incorporates within it images of; the world, fish, dates and some bolts. This will lead you out of the station; on your left you will notice a large sculpture of the old British Rail logo.

Once out of the station, walk across the road between ‘Las Vegas’ and the ‘High Quality Student Accommodation’ that flank each side of this route - the railings along this route will probably have Styrofoam cups impaled upon them. At the end of this road you need to turn right, where in front of you, in the near distance, you will see a statue of a man standing on the prow of a ship, fifty foot up the side of a building. The figure is larger than life while the ship seems about right. Then turn left before you get to this figure and walk across the forecourt of a hotel, passed two worn out orange plastic cones. At this point cross over the street and head up the road, where at the bottom you will see a lamppost, on which is written *PETRO in permanent marker.

Proceeding further up the road between an orange rectangular blank sign on your left, and a monument to a demolished chapel on your right, you will pass an old stone building painted in yellow and blue gloss. Immediately after you will pass a compound which is bounded by red white and blue railings. At the corner of this compound you can see an old Littlewood’s catalogue jammed underneath the railings.

Turn right and proceed down this road, where at the end you will come to a T junction. On the opposite side of this road you will see a DIY shop that has taken over, piecemeal it seems, the entire side of the road. Cross the road turning immediately right then left down a side road effectively through the ‘shop’. This will lead you to a small alleyway constructed of corrugated metal and topped with chicken wire. This is the entrance to the newly coined Ropewalks regeneration area, and will mark the starting point for all further directions to the three public artworks I am planning to make.

Directions and dates for Artwork 1
Carry on though the corrugated metal alleyway which leads you onto a side road and almost immediately to a T-junction take a left up the hill until you get to a newly constructed/deconstructed cut-through. Artwork 1 will be installed within this new through-way on Friday 23rd May at 1pm

Directions and dates for Artwork 2
Carry on though the corrugated metal alleyway which leads you onto a side road and almost immediately to a T-junction take a right down the hill for a short distance, then left just before a No-Entry sign with a Back To Reality sticker on it. Further down this road turn left where a Maybes L? sticker remains on a new Ropewalks design bollard. For further reference a wall at this junction has been sprayed with, what looks like, black bitumen paint and has a fading Peace symbol drawn in chalk. Head up this road and turn right when you reach a new square containing transplanted trees (Sycamore and Birch). Artwork 2 will be made, by a process of removal, on Friday 27th June at 1pm and will be clearly visible from this square.

Directions and dates for Artwork 3
Follow directions for Artwork 1 continuing passed Artwork 1, or what remains of it, across a newly cobbled road. Ahead of you is a paved area bordered to the left by a demolition/ construction site. Artwork 3 is to be installed in this area on Friday 25th July at 1pm
